DBxtra Android App Features

android-app-login

To log in to the application on your mobile device, enter the URL address of your Report Server, along with your login credentials (username and password) when prompted. Once you’ve filled in this information, click the “Log In” button.

Please note that the Report Server address must include the protocol you’re using (http or https), the port, and the virtual directory, just like when accessing it from a web browser. For example: http://ReportServer:8080/DBxtra.NET.

Main Interface

Upon logging in, you’ll be taken to the main interface of the application. Here, you’ll see the Project Explorer displayed on the left-hand side, while on the right-hand side, there is a menu button with relevant options for the information being displayed.

Opening Report Objects

The Project Explorer is divided into three sections. The first section is for pinned report objects, the second section is a folder containing favorite reports, and the third section displays all the projects and report objects.

To open a Report Object, simply navigate to it in the Project Explorer and click on it. This will display a menu with options to open the Data Grid, Pivot Grid, Report, or Dashboard. Clicking on either the Data Grid or Pivot Grid option will display a menu with the available views that can be opened, while clicking on the Report or Dashboard option will take you directly to the respective report or dashboard.

It’s worth noting that you can add a specific view to the favorites folder. If you do this, clicking on it will open the view directly.

Interacting with Report Objects

Interacting with the Report Objects in the DBxtra Android App is similar to how you interact with them in the Report Web Service. Therefore, we recommend that you read the relevant documentation in the Report Server section to get the most out of the application’s features.

Dashboard

When you open the Dashboard in the DBxtra Android App, you’ll see a mobile-friendly view that’s been optimized for use on mobile devices. However, please note that the widget ordering may differ from the one you defined in the Designer, and the behavior of the dashboard may differ slightly from the web version.

When viewing the dashboard on a mobile device, interacting with a widget isn’t possible. Instead, you’ll need to click on the widget to open it and be able to interact with it.

Pinning to Start

When you pin a Report Object to the Start Page in the DBxtra Android App, it will appear at the top of the Project Explorer instead of loading automatically when you start the application.

Adding to Favorites

In the DBxtra Android App, when you add a Report Object to the Favorites folder by selecting “Add to Favorites” from the menu, the current view of that object is added to the Favorites folder.
