The DBxtra Excel Reporting Service is an Excel add-on which allows you to have access to your DBxtra Report Objects from within Excel.

Excel Reporting Service Features

Once a user has logged in with his user credentials he will be able to retrieve live-real-time data from any DBxtra Report Object assigned to the user group he belongs to.

Insert the Report Objects data into Excel as a:

  • Static sheet
  • Real-time live connected sheet
  • Real-time live connected pivot table

Retrieve your most recent Data

  • If you created a live real time connected Excel sheet or Pivot Table you only need to click the button “Refresh Data” and the XL Reporting Service will retrieve all current data.
  • If you applied formatting to your data prior, it will still be preserved. No need to re-format your reports repeatedly.
  • If parameters were defined in the report object, clicking the “Refresh Parameter” button will ask you to enter new input parameters.
  • Clicking the “Refresh Fields” button will refresh with the most recent field definition of the underlying query

Be secure

Your Data Connection strings are encrypted and not visible to end-users. This makes it secure to deploy XL Reporting Service Excel files to end-users.

Open Reports from within Excel

Open reports from within Excel by clicking the Report button.

Open Dashboards from within Excel

Open dashboards from within Excel by clicking the Dashboard button.

  • Processor 1Ghz
  • 1GB RAM
  • 80 MB available space on hard disk drive
  • Windows XP, 1603 (32/64 bits), Vista (32/64 bit), 7
  • .NET Framework 4.0 (or higher) If you don’t have it installed than the DBxtra setup will automatically download and install .NET 4.0 for you
  • Optionally IIS (Internet Information Service) – suggested to publish the web report service
  • Microsoft Excel 2007- 2010 – 2013 – 2016

  • The DBxtra XL Reporting Service is licensed as an add-on to the DBxtra Report Web Service.
  • You need only one license.
  • You need to have at least 1 DBxtra Designer license and 1 Report Web Service user license.
  • XL Reporting Service users count as named DBxtra Report Web Service users.
    You can log in at the Report Web Service and XL Reporting Service simultaneously.

This product requires an active subscription license to Developer Express Inc.’s Universal Subscription.
